Monastic-themed bar and hosts uniforms designed for Bompas & Parr’s Alcoholic Architecture project in Borough Market, July – December 2015. The bar features a walk-in cloud of breathable cocktail.
The underground bar sits next to the UK’s earliest gothic cathedral and on the site of an ancient monastery. The bar staff mix drinks from spirits and beers created by monks: potions such as Chartreuse, Benedictine, Trappist beer and the notorious Buckfast.
A project with Tour de Force for a mini-opera sponsored by Peroni beer, produced by Go Opera, touring the UK summer 2012. Incredible reflective fabric used in the men’s costumes from Dashing Tweeds (Scottish Fashion Awards Textile Brand of the Year).
I worked with il maestro Signor Ontani on the costumes for this performance piece. It took the form of a procession from the Serpentine Gallery to an oboe-accompanied tableau vivant at the Royal Geographical Society. The papier maché masks were hand-made in Italy. Each masked character represented a literary or art historical figure such as Aubrey Beardsley, Virginia Woolf, Francis Bacon, Reynolds via Gainsborough portraits.. references to references.
